Dr. Aeysha Begum is an Assistant Professor in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Khwaja Yunus Ali Medical College, Bangladesh. She earned her MBBS degree in 2001 and holds FCPS and MCPS qualifications. Her experience includes roles as a registrar at TMSS Medical College and as an outdoor medical officer at Meherunessa Maternity Clinic. Dr. Aeysha Begum is interested in gynecological oncology and palliative care, having completed extensive training and certifications, including diabetology and ultrasound. She has authored research articles and served as a reviewer for academic journals, focusing on topics such as vitamin D deficiency in pregnant women and fertility preservation after cancer treatment. She is a life member of the Bangladesh Medical Association and a pro master at Quantum Foundation.
A one-year internship from May 2001 to April 2002, divided between the medicine and Obs & Gynae departments at Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College & Hospital in Bogura, Bangladesh; one year of full-time training in Obs & Gynae at Rajshahi Medical College Hospital, covering acute and chronic cases, in two sessions (July to December 2002 and January to June 2006); another full year in the Obs & Gynae department at Shaheed Suhrawardy Hospital from July 2003 to July 2004 and January to June 2005, also handling acute and chronic cases; a six-month Certificate Course on Diabetology from BIRDEM (July to December 2008); a three-month Certificate Training on Ultrasound (August to November 2009); and foundation training in palliative care from the Institute of Palliative Medicine in Kerala, India, in May 2022.
Dr. Aeysha Begum possesses a strong academic interest in the fields of gynecological oncology and palliative care. Her research endeavors focus on exploring innovative therapeutic strategies and improving patient outcomes in these critical areas of women's health. She is dedicated to advancing knowledge and practices that can enhance the quality of care for patients facing such complex medical challenges.
